Today a child will go to school hungry. Help change this!

5 Loaves provides nutritious meals for under-nourished children in orphanages, schools, and on the streets-
who would otherwise not eat on a regular basis.

How We Started

Founder Wayne Dollarhide traveled to Haiti in 1999 as part of a construction team. Nothing could have prepared Wayne for what he witnessed on the ground while in country. Children were going without basic needs- food, water, clothing, among other things. In addition- kids weren't going to school and were being forced to the streets to beg for their next meal. For the next few years Wayne returned to Haiti, and also visited the Philippines where hew witnessed the exact same thing.

Using his connections that he had made in the business world, as well as connections he made within the church and abroad, Wayne set out in 2005 to establish a non-profit that focused on providing for the needs of children, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. Wayne asked God a simple question- "What can I do?" 5 Loaves was God's answer.

5 Loaves quickly became a non-profit 501 (c) (3) in 2006. 5 Loaves partners with orphanages, schools and other Non-Government Organizations (NGOs). We are having a positive social and economic impact on local communities by not only providing meals, but also providing employment for cooks, teachers, kitchen helpers, drivers, and regional food vendors.

    Wayne Dollarhide

Wayne has been blessed with a lovely wife and 3 daughters that he is very proud of. As a business owner, he founded Cambridge Homes in 1997. He has a vast knowledge of budgeting, managing, and customer service. These skills have helped Wayne launch 5 Loaves. He gives all glory to God in the knowledge that he has obtained through these life experiences to lead 5 Loaves. Wayne has been able to keep the overhead substantially low for 5 Loaves by using his business to cover most of the expenses including staff in the US. "I have a great passion for the calling Jesus has put in my heart for undernourished children, and my desire is to see a 5 Loaves’ feeding program established in every country. We’ve come a long way in 9 years, but there is so much more work to be done. I am blessed to have a devoted team that wants to make a difference!"

"Its amazing to see the impact the feeding programs have made with the children. Our partners who we are proud to call friends are so awesome, and we are so blessed to work with them and to see how they love and serve the children. It’s incredible to witness how fast these programs are growing, and it wouldn’t be possible without the support we receive and the great staff."

The most priceless experience is seeing the expression on the kids faces when you give a simple smile and hug. The experience overall is something that cannot be fully explained in words, but only by seeing it for yourself! These kids really touch all our hearts!”

Mike describes himself as this on his twitter page-
“…husband, father, son, world changer in training, musician, creator, media, marketing, project guy, horrible golfer, and lover of God, life, family, and friends.”

Upon returning to the US, Mike waited outside Wayne’s house daily until finally one day Wayne gave him the opportunity to lend a hand!

These partners and more believe in what we’re doing!
